David Temlak
Founder, Speaking of Customer Service, LLC

Mr. Temlak has a long history of improving the satisfaction of both customers and employees by exceeding their current and future needs for program, content, service and systems implementation. Mr. Temlak specializes in finding ways to reduce operating budgets while improving the overall levels of Customer Service. This has been accomplished through coordinated planning, process improvement and technology augmentation over his 20 year career in a variety of technical and leadership positions.

Seeking a way to maximize his skills and offer his experience to a wider audience, David founded a consulting practice focused squarely on helping others improving their customer service capabilities. Together with Jeff King, the former president of Road Runner, one of the original and most successful high speed ISP providers, they formed Speaking of Customer Service, LLC.

Prior to founding Speaking of Customer Service, LLC, David served as the SVP of Customer Service for SupportSoft. There he helped build Support.Com, a premier residential remote PC repair service. Support.com now uses almost 400 “work from home” agents and received the only 5 Star rating for remote PC repair services from Network World in 2007.

Mr. Temlak previously served as VP, GVP and eventually SVP of Customer Care at Time Warner Cable and Road Runner. There, he was ultimately responsible for providing support to TWC 13+ million customers for all three of their product lines (Video, HSD and Phone). In those positions, he helped TWC/Road Runner win multiple JD Power awards for providing the highest customer satisfaction among residential and commercial high-speed Internet and telephone service providers.

A graduate of Boston’s Northeastern University, Mr. Temlak holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with an Option in Computer Science. It was as a co-op student at Northeastern that David first gained an appreciation for how the working world differed greatly from the academic world (hint: Customers are rarely part of the academic equation).
