Technology Overview
NGB’s technologies allow an operator to automatically control and manage cable modems, eMTAs, PCs and other IP devices on an operator’s network. The DACS Advanced Application Server is NGB’s core technology and includes all the intelligence for an operator to quickly and easily manage devices. Coupled with NGB’s base applications for Data, Video, Voice and Wireless; operator’s can quickly add on modules to effectively address the various operational and business needs of their broadband services.

Each module addresses specific operational or other business needs, including: installation, session management, customer management and field operations. Modular design allows operators to incrementally add functionality based on business requirements.
DACS Advanced Application Server
The DACS Advanced Application Server contains a collection of technologies, including a workflow engine and message bus, that enables applications to be quickly added to an operator’s network. An operator, once installing one of the base applications for Data, Video, Voice or Wireless, can easily add-on functionality through modules that work specifically with each base application.
Base Applications
NGB has four base applications: Data, Video, Voice and Wireless, to support the DACS Advanced Application Server. These base applications have all the business logic and rules frameworks of its service group. For example, the Video Base Application has all of the business rules specific to video services. Additionally, each base application has a line of modules that allow operators to incrementally add on functionality to their datacenter based on business requirements. Operators can install additional base applications to the DACS Advanced Application Server to support multiple service groups.
